Time for a little up-date action...nawhaddamean?

Yes, so it's been an AWESOME two days, and i hope you can sense the stressed sarcasm in that statement... Monday morning it began driving to school when my car, being ten years old, could not stop as fast as the man-who-didn't-speak-english's car in front of me, no damage done, so that was good. yet who doesn't want to start their week rear-ending someone. Unless you're a genius, or just very lucky, that day at school probably wasn't the greatest for you either...midterm grades were back. if there was a test for the worst test taker in the world, i'd definetly ace that shit...(yeah a test for the worst test taker...i don't know either...?)

Later on that day, i took two naps, normally this would be nice...but i woke up from my second nap at 9:40 pm, and decided to just wander upstairs to bed. the worst is when you know you're real tired and if you make too many movements you will wake yourself up, and not be able to fall back to sleep...surely you know the feeling that i speak of. i'm about to get into bed, when my sister's cat jumps off and what jumps off of her, but a tick, on to my bed. it was spider-esque, so naturally i screamed, threw my sneaker at it, and ran out of the room. that was the sudden movement that woke me up and didn't allow me to fall asleep right away, and you know i love to sleep. so i shut my door and wouldn't go back into my room until the next morning. i slept in my sister's bed, but she took all the covers, which is probably one of the top-ten worst things to happen to a peaceful sleep...needless to say, i was crabby.

So today, the start of February...someone parked in my spot. I didn't want to take someone else's space because i would cause them the same angst that i myself felt, so i stealthy parked illegally (hm, i love making sense?). there was someone parked across from me in this illegal spot, so i assumed we were fine, and didn't think of it again until 7th period. that was when i got the text message, "yo trace, there's a ticket on your car..." yesss, oh how i LOVE the bernards township police department.

There has been many other tiny occurances, but i feel i am most likely blowing them out of proportion, just because i am having a bad day to begin with. (any other day, this pen stain on my pants wouldn't really bother me...but today it is pissing me off to no end.) so i will no longer bore you with my petty complains...

and as for tomorrow, it is a new day (hopefully a better one), groundhog's day, and Brians birthday...

HAPPY 18th BRIAN!

oh heyyy...

Feeling good and unmotivated so i decided to write an entry. Next week are midterms, and i'm not going to lie....i'm excited. not for tests, but because we seniors don't have to do anything else for the rest of the year. how amazing is that? I really don't have much to say, so i think i'm going to drop my pictures off from anabels to get developed...haha this is going to be FUNNNNN.

*****CONGRADULATIONS LAUREN FOR GETTING INTO MARIST*****

2005

Twas the morning of January first, and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
For everyone had been heavily drinking the night before,
to make sure the beginning of 2005 would not be a bore...

enough of that.

Happy New Year Everyone! Last night was so much fun, because i got to see some frost valley-ers along with basking ridg-ers. The night began when Eli came over for dinner, then we went over to clinton to see lauren and lindsay. i couldn't stay long, so i made sure i made them both a very strong drink, to ensure they would have fun. Lindsays was a little too much. haha. her vodka had some carbonation in it.

I loved arriving to Blakes with everyone already wasted...everyone seemed happy to see me (liquor does that). I was so proud we had set up three beirut tables, there was less arguing. the whole night was fun, and i'm glad i spent it with everyone. happy 2005 guys, it's going to be so much fun ;). (honestly didn't mean to rhyme that...)

It's the most wonderful season of all

i was thinking...and i thought that it was time for a little live journal update action.

Tonight before sharing, our class delivered christmas cookies to old people...brian and i delivered cookies to this old woman in a wheel chair, and she was honestly the cutest woman i have ever met. she was so excited to get the cookies, and even more excited to find out that she could keep the container. i don't think i will ever get over how adorable she is.

hm, what else is going on...well the winter camp situation has got me a little down. i was really looking forward to working, and playing in the snow with the kids...but there wasn't enough interest. **if you are less than or equal to 16...sign up before christmas and go! so us young counselors can work!!** But Christmas is also another fun time to look forward too. i asked santa for an ipod...and i saw a small wal-mart box in the mail, so i think it's here.

We have a volleyball match on thursday against the faculty. i bet you anything i will be face to face with howard on the front line, and he will spike a ball that will put me in the hospital...can't wait.

So the roads are real icy right now...and i am confined to this house. Even stepping onto the road like 20 minutes ago, i flew. So the icy roads mean i can't go celebrate lisa's birthday tonight, which is a major upset. cathy finding the champagne for nothing... yeah that's something else. last weekend, i basically died. i had never been so drunk in my life...don't remember a thing from the night...until i was bowing to the porcelain god...and being carried out by pat. so then this weekend cathy found the champagne in my backpack. it was fun.
...so happy birthday lisa! and i'm sorry i can't be there to toast to it!

couple more things to list..

Hockey game vs west essex...
'someone get the ref some ritalin so he can pay attention to the game...'
'ref eats poo (clap clap clap clap clap) ref eats poo...'
'hey ref, does the rule book come in braille?'
'hey ref, what subject do you teach at west essex?'
'what are they paying you? i'll double it!'

then....'free nibbs.'

i'm off to bed/to pray to the snow gods. i can't go to school simply because i suck at yahoo pool..and don't deserve to play...

goodnight all.

NOOO, i just wrote such a good entry, and my computer ate it. now you're going to have to get the second best.

"we're still fighting it," ben folds = themesong of the moment....not really. it's just the song i am currently listening to. Amazing song, amazing man. he is also part of the bens, who are equally amazing...yes.

volleyball up-dizzle - free eighty conquered the thanksgiving tournament...good job guys. faculty bring it.

naturally i am again procrastinating from writing a college essay. and it's the last thing i have to do with the whole process...once i do this it's all up to the schools. but it's one of those things you REALLY don't want to do, and would do anything else in the world just to not have to do it. i know you know what i am talking about, so don't act like you don't. (whoa, hostilty broke loose...sorry about that.)

Let me know how OAR goes tonight...(that's to every ridge student and anyone who's graduated from ridge in the past three years...because you'll most likely be there...)

until then,
peace out.

what can i say besides we kicked the "dream team"'s ass. they were all talk.

team free eighty will always prevail...whether it's getting a free 80 dollar keg (what?) or winning the volley ball tourny. bring it juniors...just like powder puff. oh wait, we kicked your ass then too...

okay enough pep talk...highlight of the first game...yes i'm going to say it again...Pat (hence why this entry is dedicated to pat...) using the bleachers to save a bump-gone-wrong and getting it over the net on our third hit was absolutely insane. Just our team's spikes in general were stellar. I heart tall team members.

beautiful job team free eighty...beautiful.

Swadika

I felt a surge of creativity (which is extremely rare) so i started to write a college essay about my trip to thailand. i'm at a loss for words to explain bangkok and phuket, any suggestions will help...

the main reason for this entry is to explain the mini roadtrip lauren and i had this past weekend...wow.

It all begings departing my house, when i rapidly packed my clothing, toiletrees, etc... in basically all plastic bags. i was in quite the hurry. the backseat of lauren's car was covered in...basically shit. However we were off.
We took a small food/bathroom break at a rest stop...one that we realized we had stopped at only a couple weekends ago (we realized this once we got inside.) We ordered at Roy Rogers...not being able to correctly pronounce Roy Rogers. I told the woman I was only ordering the chicken so I could have the busicut, she gave me an extra;) Upon approaching the check-out line, we spotted large, meter long water bottles. We decided those were a must. The cutest asian lady who sat by us when he started to eat loved them, and we loved her.
We cross the mid-hudson bridge, for the first time, when it was almost completely dark. There was also a fair amount of snow in Po-town. (don't ask me to spell that town.) we made a couple wrong turns, but somehow ended up with the Marist sign directly to our left. However, we could not get in touch with whom we were staying with, josh. so we had to kill some time. we drove...for a long time. we first drove to kingston. who doesn't love some good will shopping in historical kingston...eh? after that we drove, ate, took pictures of funny signs, and checked out hotels in case josh didn't get back to us. we pulled into the parkinglot of two hotels...and i called them from the car. First, the ramada inn...there were three other cars in the parking lot, so we figured we had it made. the front desk reported they were booked. Econolodge was a little different, they were booked with no cars in the parking lot.
we finally got to marist for the night, met josh's girlfriend, who was very nice, and got settled in. we then began to party a bit, and learned josh had a crazy roomate. there was boy drama like i had never seen boy drama before. it's hard to describe, all i can say is there was a lot of violence. the crazy roomate yelled, flipped over a table, and threw a football into a bag of cans around 4 am...i slept through it.
departing marist, we left for saratoga springs, ny--skidmore. both thinking it only took an hour to get to our destination, i checked mapquest to find it took 1 hr 57 min...we booked it. I had an interview...and i wish i knew that i smelled like beer before i went in there. hm, hope she didn't notice that. after the interview, we ate a hearty lunch, and my dad called up a hotel he stays at every year in saratoga, and rented the room for us for 4 hours. what an amazing shower and nap that was, let me tell yah...
we then left for siena to stay with matt and chris.
so, siena.
lot of drinking
lot of international students
lot of dancing to european techno
lot of townhouse hopping
lot of peeing in each townhouse while hopping
lot of randomness
lot of drinking
lot of hours
lot of (not really...only one) condom found attached to my shoe.
lot of hiding from RAs
lot of stopping fights about nothing
lot of ice 101
lot of calls to lindsay
lot of cold weather
lot of happy pictures
lot of fun
did i mention the peppermint schnopps?
yes, lauren and i were tanked until roughly 5:45 am...we definetly had fun. then there was the open house the next day....which we couldn't sneak out of early.

basically two days, and a million illegal turns later, we made it home in one piece.
for interesting visuals to go with this entry...check out lauren's webshots...their hot...just like her.

well it's a wonderful night for a moondance, with the stars up above in your eyes.
fantabulous night to make romance, between the cover of october skies...
(that song always makes me think of your voice mail!)

i could keep going but i don't want to butcher the lyrics too much with what i think they are...basically i love lauren and i love how she makes me update, because if i didn't my life would seem even more dull than it is.

hm, i'm now occupied with 4 jobs, ccd teaching, sharing and softball. oh and school/college acceptance. goooood times. actually i like keeping busy, it keeps me going. but when it all starts winding down, i will be just as happy.

ELECTION DAY TOMORROW! to show my true american sportsmanship (eh right word) i will travel to the polls with a republican. then after our voting we will go out to have a nice "opposing viewpoint lunch" or something similar to that. keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow night at this time we will have a new president...i know i have faith! but i'm still nervous!

okay almost bedtime...i hope i satisfied you lauren!

ohh i love also:
jenny
karen
lori
martha
natalie
olga
penelope
Quanda
Rosalita

it had to be said...

i started to write an entry in publications, but natrually the bell rang, and i couldn't finish. it's mine, ms benitz and lauren b's birthday tomorrow, publications party 7th period!!! woo!!

Yeah, 18. I can buy myself a cigar, some porn, lottery tickets, and get arrested...hm, sounds like a skeevy old man. But that's what i will be doing this time tomorrow. eh, if i have the nerve i'll buy the porn. oh, i'm nervous.

As of now i'm just celebrating my last bday at home...(this is good...) as always i could be doing work, but that doesn't appeal to me at the moment.

Ohhhh, Lauren and I went up to skidmore for the open house on monday, chrissy, suzy and her friend from home, kate were there. we also met up with Hugh and Jonah. it was fun, i needed a fv-fix. thanks guys.
terribly un-motivated.

they subject of this entry basically sums up what it's going to be about. (obviously, because that's what a subject is supposed to do.) I have a lot of make up homework to start/do...and i really don't want to. i need motivation.

i guess i'll stare at my college applications while i do the work...that's a form of motivation. any other suggestions, let me know, because i will be procrastinating for a while.

i also have the feeling i should be somewhere?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COURT!!!

fv-ers- did you know i have the world on a string?

what a month...

so basically i haven't been myself lately...and it's really been this month that has done it. this is going to be a short entry, because it's hard to type.

on august 19th, i lost my grandfather. he had been sick for a couple years, but we didn't expect this to happen. my grandmother had gone in the hospital a week before his death, diagnosed with cancer in her stomache. he collapsed because he couldn't live without her. i was up at camp when it all happened, so it did not seem real to me. i knew i had a job to do, and 8 kids to help jonelle watch, so i had to do my job until i was leaving for home in a day and a half. i didn't tell anyone but a couple people, so i would not get upset. the news still doesn't seem real to me.

yesterday morning, i lost my grandmother. i hadn't told anyone what kind of condition she was in for the past two weeks, because i didn't want people to know i was upset. no one did know, or suspected. but i was torn, because my feelings were so intense. at home i was in constant tears, and i still didn't understand that my grandfather was gone. and like a little kid dealing with someone who was sick, i didn't believe that my grandmother wasn't going to get up and dance like she used to.

this whole situation still isn't real for me, and most likely won't be until thanksgiving or christmas, when grandpa isn't sitting at the head of the table, and grandma isn't running around making sure there is ten times the amount of food on the table then there should be. i wish more people that will be reading this knew anne and john petruzziello, because they were the most amazing people you can imagine. always loud, and animated. they will live forever in our memories.

thank you everyone for being supportive. writing this makes me feel like i have taken some kind of step forward. and hopefully i will soon feel better.

Roses and Thorns

When I looked back and realized that I still hadn't updated from my entry in Publications, I realized a lot had to be said about the end of this summer...

Today I ate some chinese food, and my fourtune was "There is no rose without a thorn." (lucky numbers 9, 14, 22, 24, 26, 45) The thorn and rose fourtune reminded me obviously of "thorns and roses" where we would tell our "thorn" of the day and our "rose" at devotion.

I don't know how to better explain my "Rose of camp" then how it has already been explained by Hugh...

"It has that feeling you can't describe, that feeling that no one can describe. The feeling that you will never be able to even come close to explaining to someone who has not experienced Frost Valley the same way we have. That allure that always brings you and all of your friends back..."

Maybe some can relate to this feeling, and maybe some can't. (camp and home friends alike...) But to those who can relate, you know how vital this feeling is. Being away from camp hurts, which is obviously the "thorn." But when you're there, there is nothing better than that rose.

In comparison, this rose will always outweigh any thorn possible.

So remember, I love you all terribly, and I know that there are at least 20 other people who love you all the same. That is the best rose Frost Valley gives us all.

This is going to be a short entry. It's 7th period Publications I...the class that a senior takes to do virtually nothing.

Lauren Lamauro pointed out that I haven't updated in a while...and i still find it so hard to believe i didn't write anything about the valley!

Session 3 and 4 were insanely amazing, and i still can't thank everyone enough for everything this summer.

...i will definetly add details tonight or tomorrow...

yo, i could get a bell to ring?

HOW DOES IT FEEL TO FIND A STRANGER IN THE ALPS

AMA red tour 2004...what can I say?
I miss [DJ] Francis and his stellar driving. Wally wasn't bad, I enjoyed his argument with the angry Italian. Sleeping on the floor of coach 1 was some good sleep. And the hand slapping game always kept us occupied and amused, especially when Lendon anounced she would just fake it all the time so she could be on the bottom... Coach 1 itself will of course be missed, games of ass-hole, same sex kissing, annoying seat movers, and naturally bus-dementia(which i severly experienced when someone ate my fucking chocolate!).

Rooming with Syd and Kaitlin was always entertaining too. Kaitlin attempted to crack her back a couple times..didn't work. Syd enjoying being spider man, while i was focused on the town of ober weseal...Sarah, being articulate would describe my tea as "thick...black...yum." Syd could also fit 19 jolly ranchers in her mouth, which is a lot, and doesn't flush in european toilets. Washing my hair in the tub was quite the task in itself...then Sarah had to finish with a cold water rinse...Thanks Sarah.

There were many insightful comments throughout the trip..."Hey, we're in a tunnel." and the infamous, "Why is that chairlift only going down?" or "Don't make fun of me because i'm...stumb."

On a sentimental side, the scenery was beautiful. Especially the extra hiking Corey, Sam and I did in Switzerland...until we tried to find our way back to the hotels....yeah.

Ryan's insightful advice on boys, zodiac signs, and hair products. I'm so glad I had the pleasure to sing next to him...and his amazing cologne...ah...

The sneaking out of rooms at night, (Not just our room, who could forget the story of the rope made out of bed sheets, and Corey climbing down to Sara, Julie and Emily's room...) and wodka...yes that's a w, not a v. Sarah being paranoid...wait, that happened a lot. Then Sarah passing out, and us making sure she didn't wake up because of her loud shhh-ing. And when i lost the map...the first time. And we played a game! We still found coach 2's hotel with some exploring. Also basiclaly just loosing maps, getting lost, and being on loading crew for being late.

Corey and I probably should have stole Anita for a ride, the keys were there...but the awnings kept us dry enough though...and the beautiful view of the matterhorn..because we could see it perfectly and everything.

The last 48 hours of the trip, with no sleep and plenty of red bull. The gianormous connecting balcony. Making fun of the large amounts of German porn. Realizing some doors were and weren't taped, booking it across the hallway, then finding that the tape was still there the next morning. Delerium...and the hilarious cartoon on the plane ride home. (That honestly is still the funniest thing i have ever seen.)

Basically I love and miss all of you guys, and hope to see you all as soon as we can all get together!

It can never be said enough, so i'll say it again... "We did it together as a group, together."

I hate when I don't write for a while, then have to write in my first sentence "wow, I haven't written in a while..."

So basically school is over. With such a large work-load and annoying ass finals, it's quite the relief. And we're officially seniors, kind of. I've been anticipating senior year for quite some time. Although, now that I am closer, and seeing some loved seniors go, I realize I didn't hate basking ridge as much as I said I did. Yeah, it is a large, rich, pretty annoying town basically inside a bubble, but we all grew up together in that bubble, and missing and leaving everyone will hurt for a little. I also do not know why I am getting all sentimental when we have another year left to go (i need someone here to slap me or something.) But I pretty much just want to wish you the best of summer's, because I won't be around to really enjoy it with you guys at home or down the shore. Additionally, I wanted to get everyone ready for the best year of our high school career. We should make it the best it can be. Because as Mr. Bryan Adams once perfectly stated, "these are the best days of our life."

Love you all.

GO GET YOUR SOFTHAND

softhand...busy bee, whatever works.

The main talk around here basically has been all quotes from "Waiting for Guffman," and "Best in Show."

Story of the day:
Characters: person x, me, heather, and kristen.

Heather was enjoying a refreshing yoo hoo from the vending machines after practice, say ohh 7:00 pm. I observed this beverage and remembered how much i had was craving an orange soda, because of lent i had not consumed any for a good time. so i politely asked heather for some money to purchase my cola beverage. thankfully, she had a dollar. i stated, when passing person x and kristen on a bench that i was ecstatic to be obtaining my orange soda, especially with a dollar that was not my own. person x related this to heather and remembered heather owes her a dollar. i kindly replied to person x that i would pay the dollar that heather gave me, that person x believed belonged to her, back to person x. i, thinking the subject was at a close, commenced in inserting my dollar into the machine and thoroughly enjoying my orange cola. heather then asked some of her peers for a nickel and dime so she could get another yoo hoo. she was successful!!! so upon viewing heather drinking yoo hoo number two, and observing me sipping my orange soda, person x went crazy. their face turned a crimson color and they advanced on heather exclaiming that heather owed them a dollar, and that heather had purchased two yoo hoos and an orange soda without paying them their rightfully owed dollar. trying to elevate the tension being created i offered a dollar that would be given the very next day to person x. let me tell you, person x wanted nothing of my dollar. person x was convinced that the responsibility of the payment soled relied on heather. so kristen heather and i agreed with person x, in order to bring her face back to it's original glow. person x then left our company and we continued to laugh.

this is dedicated to Keery Free

The last show of 42rd street was today, and we did an amazing job.

I just wanted to share with everyone that the play was amazing and everyone did a great job. With the cast party/awards being unforgettable. And Gabby's Piano banging making people on stage laugh uncontrollably. Justin collapsing without a gun being fired, being confusing to everyone, but seeming to work. With Shirley jokes, and other mishaps the show came together beautifully. Thanks.

Let the festivities of winter break commence...

Humorous event of the day:
First some background on today's event. If you are in 7th period lunch you know the skinny freshman boy who freaked out one day about a snickers bar. You know, the boy Lauren grabbed by the arms and yelled at? Okay. So during the 2nd period fire drill today, we were standing outside the school, by the library doors...The one's by the hill on the side of the school. The hill is a complete sheet of ice also, so it is a matter of time before someone falls. Naturally snickers boy takes the first plunge, and receives a round of applause. But for some odd reason decides to walk away from the huddled students (where he is visible to everyone...) and attempt to walk up the iced-hill. Needless to say he falls about three more times on his way up there. Directly after this a boy in my physics class decides to run and slide down the hill on his feet, grabbing on to Theresa at the bottom, who screams because she is not expecting this, nor does she know this kid very well. They don't fall, but Theresa's reaction is hilarious enough. While this is going on, a school librarian comes towards us ready to discipline. She pulls Foti by the neck of his jacket across the ice, to yell at everyone that they have to go inside now. Three studious freshmen girls are meanwhile trying to go inside, when two holding on to one another plunge together. Their friend tries to help them, and falls. They all stand up, gather the balance, and fall once more. At this point, people are sitting and sliding down the ice and some even taking head first plunges.

Just for procrastination's sake...

Yet again, I should be writing a paper on impeachment, however I needed a break. What was initiall thought to be a bad weekend, due to amount of work, has turned out pretty good. (actually GREAT) Playing softball again with most of the team on Saturday felt great. Minus the fact that we had no idea who that guy was who was helping us out. He didn't have a top row of teeth, so it was quite hard to understand him. Work for this weekend was the ususal. Nothin unsual ever happens at the library... Well actualy something weird did happen one day. I was working in the adult section with anothr fellow librarian, and she comes up to me to show me a piece of paper that had fallen out of a book while shelving. It was a photo-copy of someone's face. But it was honestly the scariest thing I had ever seen. They were looking straight ahead and you could make out their eyes perfectly. I can't even describe it... but enough of library tales...
The aspect that really made my weekend as amazing as it has been was the phone call I recieved today from Dale (from Frost Valley). It was ironic, because I was listening to the messages (I never do that. I only did today to make sure Kitty didn't call to see where Anabel was Friday night...) and It was Dale. The second I heard his voice I omitted a sound that can only be described as a screech-squeal. My dad must have shat his pants when that happened. But I am offically going to be a junior counsoler in Lakota for 3rd and 4th sessions. I can't wait!!!

I really should not be writing a journal entry right now, considering the amount of homework that was assigned tonight, but I'll survive.
I have to dedicate this journal to Lexi and Chrissy, they inspired me to join, thanks guys.
-When having a bad day or week (as seems to be the consensus with people today...) I try to think of the high point and the low point of my day. (I can't take credit for that either...thanks Michele.) Starting with the low point usually makes you feel better, because then you are left with your mind on the good. As for my low point, it would have to be when I was told my writing was not at the AP level (hm...isn't that why I supposed to currently be learning to write at the AP level?) My high point would have to be getting my 1970's dress for the fashion show.
-See? feeling better already.
-I suggest it to those of us who are having a rough day.
